During the March Break, one of my exercise colleagues was complaining about our substitute instructor (Fred) for our Firm Parts class. She was anxious for our regular instructor (Pam) to return from her holiday south. Why? - Because she found she could focus better when the leg exercises were conducted only on the spot as opposed to also forwards and backwards and side to side. It also doesn’t help that she had just missed two weeks’ worth of Pam’s classes while she was away on course and on her own sunny vacation to Jamaica. (By the way, both Fred and Pam are excellent and popular instructors.)
Having been a personal fitness trainer for 10 years, I understood that she preferred to control her surroundings, in this case Fred, instead of her own ability to focus during physically more expansive movements. This brings me to the big question: Is your ability to create what you want constipated? Or are you consistently in the flow from one experience to the next? How many times in life do we feel compelled to resist rather than embrace change. Here’s the deal: when you train yourself to be flexible with physical exercise (or even mental exercises like coaching or training your clients for instance), by regularly varying and engage in your (or clients’) exercises, and fully feeling your corresponding body’s sensations and emotions (aka in the flow), your ability to be create-manifest what you want will be exponentially increased: strengthened. Why? - Because you can’t have a strong business, relationships and finances (you get the picture?), unless your mind is also flexible.
Let me illustrate with a personal example. When I set aside a certain day and time to write the WalkYourSoul article, the process often feels energetically rigid. However, as I’m moving through my life experiences, if I plant the seed (or intention) that the idea and content for the next article will come to me, then the words will flow very easily, naturally and quickly to me through an inspiration, instead of at a set predetermined time. And yes, sitting on the creative-manifesting toilet on a consistent and regular basis is important for staying in the flow of manifesting. However, it doesn’t have to be done in the space-time dimension, which as I started teaching you last week (in Are you caught in these business traps: time and money?) is more limiting. There is no time like the present to improve your ability to create or manifest what you want. Basically, it always comes down to the quality (e.g. resist or embrace, learn from and derive more from change) and intent of each choice you make.
Since I initially wrote this article, my fellow exerciser approached and thanked me for commenting on her complaint. The good news is, during the next class she whispered to me that she was getting a much better workout from Fred than in the previous class. And you could tell, as she was ‘glowing’ from the workout. Just between you and I, Fred didn’t deliver much differently from the previous class. What changed was her attitude and openness to change. Beautiful!
